Sister is almost one year old and I can’t believe it! Teething has not been fun this past month. Her two front teeth are coming in and I noticed yesterday two bottom teeth are starting to make an appearance.
She stands all the time but hasn’t taken any steps yet. I can tell she wants to so bad but she just can’t seem to make her feet move.
She also has this little stance that she takes all the time. I joke that it is her catcher’s stance.
Her hair is starting to grow except in the front. Her little bangs are still pretty short. I can slip a bow in there sometimes without her knowing. If she knows it’s there she takes it out and hands it to me.
She is a climber and likes to get in to things that she isn’t supposed to…like her sound machine.
She loves her pink blankies that her Oma made her.
Playing peek-a-boo with me!
She is not eating much these days. I don’t know if she is becoming a picky eater like her brother or if her appetite isn’t as big anymore. I know that around 12 months most babies don’t eat as much. Honestly I don’t really keep up with it. She feeds herself so I put everything on her tray and if she eats it then great and if not then oh well. She still has 5 bottle feedings each day. This week I am going to take away her mid-morning bottle and replace it with a sippy cup with whole milk. One at a time I will take away each bottle, probably ending with her bedtime bottle. She still seems to have a milk allergy. I think she is lactose intolerant like William was and I am sure she will grow out of it. I will start her off on lactaid and if she is still having issues with it then we will try soy milk. I actually gave her lactaid last week and she had a very upset tummy and a horrible diaper rash. I was convinced it was the milk. But, after William and I both got sick I have decided that we probably all had the stomach bug so we will try the milk again and keep our fingers crossed that she doesn’t get another diaper rash. This was a first for us. William NEVER had diaper rash and until I stopped nursing Virginia had never had one either. It’s not fun!
She says mama but not always directing it to me. She also makes the same sounds for bottle and Dora (our dog). She loves to make noise and can get really loud. This is so opposite of William. He never made much noise at all.
Napping is okay. Her morning nap is usually an hour to an hour and a half. Her afternoon nap is 2-3 hours. She goes to bed between 5:30 and 6 and wakes up between 6 and 6:30. She is always so happy when she wakes up. She gets so excited when you carry her out of her room. She starts kicking and laughing. It’s always such a disappointment when you walk in the den and there is no one in there for her to see. She loves her big brother and all of his toys.
She is having some separation issues lately. She does okay at school but does not like to be left in the nursery for Sunday school and does not like for anyone but mama and daddy to hold her. Hopefully this will pass quickly. William did the same thing and lately has become so outgoing so I am hopeful that she will do the same. I am also doing Kindermusik with her and she loves it. She gets so excited to see all of the other babies.
We are excited to celebrate our baby girl’s birthday in just a few weeks!
