Snow Day

We needed to get out of the house this morning so we went to my parent’s house to play and watch the snow begin to fall.

The snow was picking up so we decided it was best to head on home. William was not a fan. The snow was falling pretty hard and he did not like it in his face. When we got home he told me he was just going to play inside the rest of the day.

While the kids were napping I walked outside a bit and snapped some pictures of the beautiful snow in our yard.

As soon as William got up I started to get him dressed to go outside. I managed to talk him into it since the snow had stopped falling. Ryan managed to make it home early, although it took him close to an hour to get home. The road conditions were not the best. We got Virginia up and dressed and went outside to play!

William has NEVER liked the snow before. From the way he was talking all morning I was not expecting much. In fact, this is how he started out, touching the snow with one finger.

Look carefully at his feet in the next few pictures…He only stepped where there was no snow.

Before we knew it he was throwing snowballs and helping Ryan make a snowman!!!

Virginia liked looking at the snow but had no desire to be anywhere near it. Afternoon is really not her best time of the day either so I’m sure that didn’t help but she really just does not like to be cold.

Time to go in and warm up!

Winter Days

We have had lots of rainy days the past couple of weeks. With such a bad flu outbreak this winter I have been avoiding public places with the kids so we have had lots of days at home. Some days we even stay in our pajamas all day!

Spending so much time at home has had me itching to do some projects around the house.

We had a tile backsplash put up in the kitchen and I love it!

But, like most home projects, putting up the tile has led to a few other projects (none of which are finished yet and some I haven’t started yet, or told Ryan yet, but I will be sure to share soon!

I finally got a fiddle leaf fig tree and I am so excited about it!

After we moved in this house we landscaped the front yard. We transplanted some camellia bushes and planted a few new ones. We have had about a handful of blooms on them in the last five years but I am excited to report that this year we have a ton of blooms and they are beautiful!

Matthew’s Eagle Scout Ceremony

So proud of Matthew for getting his Eagle Scout earlier this month.

It was a wonderful ceremony and reception. We then took the party to a local pizza place to celebrate Matthew’s 17th birthday!
