Ryan has always talked about wanting a vegetable garden. For a vegetable garden you need sun and that is something we don’t have a lot of in our yard. We do have one spot which happens to be in the front yard and I have had my fair share of front yard vegetable gardens and we were not going to start that here. :) Last summer we had a tree cut down in our back yard which has provided a tiny amount of sunlight to come in so Ryan thought he would give his garden a try and see what happens. So far the plants are all growing and we have even had a few strawberries and some lettuce. We won’t be setting up a booth at the Pepper Place on Saturday mornings but it will be fun to see what we can grow.
He has planted squash, zucchini, sugar snap peas, various kinds of peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, eggplant, strawberries, lettuce, and I’m sure there is more. The hydrangeas were already in the garden and they are more beautiful than ever this year!
