William’s 4th and Virginia’s 2nd birthday Party
The forecast for Saturday was not looking good so Friday afternoon I made the call to postpone the party to Sunday afternoon. It was of course was not raining on Saturday but it worked out anyway. Of course we did have one last shower Sunday at 3. We waited in the car for the rain to stop and right at party time the clouds cleared and the sun came out!
The rain did make for some beautiful waterfalls on our hike.
When the kids arrived they made a bear mask
The kids then hiked up to a little outdoor classroom on the trail. I read them the book “Going on a Bear Hunt”
Each child then got a pair of binoculars and a scavenger hunt box and set out on the trail!
Thanks to all my friends and family for saving toilet paper rolls to make the binoculars with.
After a short hike we enjoyed some birthday cake. William and Virginia are not crazy about being in the spotlight and William really didn’t even want to have a birthday party. I think mostly because he didn’t want everyone singing Happy Birthday to him so we skipped the song and went straight to eating!
We also had s’mores-YUM!
and a yummy snack mix-teddy grahams and honey combs cereal

Everyone went home with a fabric trail map, bear cookies, and a pack filled with a glow stick and a pack of gummy bears.
