Beautiful!

We have had such beautiful weather and everything is starting to bloom so I couldn’t resist taking some pictures after Church today. We had a wonderful weekend, only coming inside to nap.

We stayed close to home enjoying the park, playing with good friends, a few walks, a visit with Papa, and dinner outside. No baby yet but he/she will be here soon and we are excited to meet our new addition!

Short and Sweet

We had a VERY short visit with Betty and Cecile  this week. Betty is my mom’s “American sister.” I haven’t seen her since my wedding and it was great to catch up and introduce her to William! They are visiting from San Diego and were only here for the night but will be back through next week. Maybe we will be able to introduce her to our new addition before they head back west!

Old McWILLLIAM had a farm…

William LOVES animals. I told him this morning we were going to visit the farm and the entire car ride out there he kept asking “where neigh neighs?”

I wish that I had had a video camera rolling when we pulled in the parking lot. As soon as he spotted the neigh neighs (horses) he was yelling and screaming (joyfully of course). He literally jumped out of the car and took off running towards the barn.

The barn was full of mama goats and their new babies that were all born this week. 2 of the little ones were born yesterday!!

After a few minutes of this the goat got kind of tired of William playing with his ears and started to nudge him so we moved on to some other animals.

He was watching in amazement as the peacock flew up on the roof. This seemed to be the only animal he was not so sure about.

Q and A

I have been getting a lot of questions about the pregnancy lately so I thought I would blog about it…mainly for my own memory. I wish that I had written down more during my pregnancy with William.

Here I am…37 weeks!

37 weeks

Do you think it’s a boy or a girl? Honestly I don’t think about it. We are very excited about the surprise so I try not to think about it too much. I guess when I do dream about our new bundle of joy I imagine the baby sometimes as a girl and sometimes as a boy. Many want to know the heartbeat so they can predict boy/girl but it has been all over the place. Weeks 32-35 it was around 150 I think. Week 36 it was 130 and week 37 it was back up to 160.

Does this pregnancy feel the same as your last one?  Physically I would say that it is pretty different but I think it’s because William was breech and in a totally different position (his feet were down) than this baby who is head down. I am definitely feeling this baby kick a lot and I didn’t feel that very much with William. I had contractions a lot earlier with William but I attribute that to the fact that I was teaching kindergarten and I didn’t get the opportunity for much rest until late in the day. I had heartburn with William and I have pretty bad heartburn with this one as well. I feel like this baby is bigger than William but I am measuring 2 weeks behind (which I did with William) and my doctor thinks this will probably be a small baby too Smile She says I probably feel this way because this baby is in a different position than William was. I didn’t swell any with William and I am still wearing my rings with this one and can’t tell if there is any swelling in my feet.

Are you getting excited? I am feeling a little bit of everything these days. I am a little nervous about the delivery, a little scared about trying for a VBAC, a little sad that William won’t be my only child anymore, a little tired of being pregnant and not having as much energy as I would like,  and excited to meet our new baby girl or boy!

Is William excited about being a big brother? Honestly, William does not have a clue what is going on. He is not quite 2 yet and while we talked about it, read some books, and played baby with all new “baby things” around the house, I don’t think he will really understand until we bring the baby home.

Have you been nesting? YES. I have cleaned out and organized most everything. I have tried my hardest to keep the house clean. I have done some deep cleaning but it’s getting hard to do that at this point in the pregnancy.I have bought lots of new plants and bugged Ryan to death about getting the yard looking somewhat decent.

Is the baby’s room ready? We are using the same nursery so there was not much to do. We moved William into a new room after Christmas. It is still a work in progress but he seems to really like it. I have washed all the newborn clothes, gotten out the bouncy seat, swing, and bassinet, and raised the crib.

How are you feeling? I’m feeling ok. I usually have lots of energy in the morning and by 1:00 I am ready for a rest. By 5:00 I am typically feeling pretty uncomfortable and by 7 I am usually in the bed! I have no problem falling asleep but if I happen to wake up in the middle of the night I have a really hard time getting back to sleep. There have been several nights that I have woken up at 3 and not gone back to sleep. Lucky for me William is a great napper, most of the time, and I can usually nap when he naps.

When is the baby coming? My official due date is March 6. If I wanted to have another c-section I could have one at 39 weeks. At this point I am going to try for a VBAC which means I could go as long as 41 weeks. At that point if I have not gone into labor then I will schedule a c-section.  With 39 weeks quickly approaching I’ll admit that it has been a little tempting to schedule a c-section so I can hold this sweet baby ASAP but I just keep reminding myself how much I wanted to experience a vaginal delivery in my last pregnancy and now I have the opportunity to do so. at 36 weeks I was 1 cm dilated and chose not to be checked this week. I stayed 1 cm with William for several weeks so I didn’t expect that much had changed in a week. There is a full moon this week so we will see what happens! I will do my best to keep the blog updated so keep checking in!

Can’t get enough…

We finished off our afternoon outside by the fire with some juice and cupcakes. We had a hard time getting William to come inside as the sun went down. He even insisted on eating dinner outside. Can you tell he is ready for spring?

Happy Birthday Mom!

We celebrated my mom’s birthday on Sunday (her actual birthday was Saturday). We could not have asked for a prettier day. The weather was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed a yummy lunch and an even yummier cake and then I said goodbye to everyone so I could sit down for a bit before William woke up from his nap.

Here is the yummy Banana Split cake/trifle…before and after

and a VERY yummy baby blue salad Smile There was also a yummy chicken casserole but it wasn’t very pretty so I didn’t photograph it.
