Happy Birthday Friend!
Trucks and Tractors
While William still loves his trains, he is REALLY into trucks and tractors these days. It just so happens someone is building a house around the corner from us so we have been able to take multiple trips every day to see the tractors. They have had three of them there for several weeks now. When we go late in the afternoon after the workers have gone home, he takes his own dump truck or tractor and enjoys playing in the rocks and dirt.
Afternoons
Warning: I know 99% of you readers could care less about our afternoons but I am trying my best to document our life and eventually print it in our family scrapbook.
Most of our activities around here take place in the morning. Without exception naptime is from 1-4. Miss V is not quite on that schedule just yet but she is working on it. After naps William is not the happiest camper so we take some time to lay on the couch and watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse before we head outside to play with the neighbors.
Finger Painting
I had promised William that as soon as Virginia went down for her morning nap that we were going to do a special painting project together. I went to put her down and when I was done I found William had pulled the paints and paintbrushes out of the cabinet and had them all set up and waiting on me…
This was not the “special” project I was talking about but I waited for him to paint a picture and then we headed outside to play with some finger paints!
He had a blast finger painting but even more fun washing his hands in the soapy water. I decided to pull out all of his outdoor riding toys and let him have a carwash.
I LOVE summer! I can’t believe it’s almost over!
Special Visitor
My Tante Anja is here visiting from Switzerland. We have had so much fun getting to spend time with her. This was her first time to meet William and Virginia. I cannot wait until the kids are older and I can take them overseas to visit with all of my family.

Welcome to the family…
We have a new friend around here and he goes by the name Goldfish!
He was the centerpiece at Jennifer’s 30th birthday Saturday night. (I’m blogging out of order. I’ll get to the birthday at a later post ) We picked him up at the Antonio’s yesterday. I wasn’t sure if William understood we were going to get a real fish or if he thought we were going to get some goldfish crackers. Either way he was excited. Right now Goldfish is living on the kitchen counter. If he sticks around long enough we will find him a more permanent home and maybe even get him a friend.
