Some more S’more Please!

I was shopping at the Wal-Mart Grocery store the other night, trying to save a little cash, and I came across these monsters…

They look just like regular marshmallows but let me tell you there is nothing normal about the size of these marshmallows. They are enormous. I put them away in hopes of a cooler night that we could build a fire and make s’mores. Unfortunately my sweet tooth got the best of me today and I wanted a s’more. Not wanting to go through the trouble of building a fire I decided to cook them in the microwave. It was pretty good. I definitely like

roasted marshmallows better but this was pretty darn good.

Looking for a picture of William sharing a s’more with me? You aren’t going to find one Smile William and Virginia were sleeping soundly while I enjoyed my afternoon dessert.

So just as soon as I finished writing this post a commercial for Hershy’s chocolate came on featuring what else but S’mores. Then I got online and started blog stalking and guess what I found on the birthday girl blog??? S’mores! It was meant to be! Click on this link for some fabulous looking s’more treats! http://www.birthdaygirlblog.com/2011/07/please-sir-may-i-have-smores.html

Morning Playtime

I often wish that I was the Melissa from Melissa and Doug. You know the folks who make great toys. One of William’s favorites these days are the stringing beads. He loves stringing them to make necklaces. It’s great for his fine motor skills and it’s a nice quiet activity.

We also love their puzzles, easels, paint brushes, blocks, cars….This list could go on forever. I haven’t met a Melissa and Doug toy that I didn’t love.

Sophie the Giraffe

I was so excited when I got Sophie the Giraffe for William. I just knew it would be his favorite toy and for $23 it should have been. Unfortunately he could have cared less about it.

(William September ‘09/ 5 months)

But it seems we are going to get our moneys worth out of it. I gave it to Virginia a few weeks ago and it’s the only toy that she loves. She can hold it easily and LOVES chewing on it. I’m not sure if she has any teeth coming in but she definitely is drooling and puts just about everything in her mouth,
