William turns 3!

A few of his favorite things…

DSC_0170

My little guy was 26 pounds and 36 inches at his 3 year old check up. He is hanging low on the charts. He has gained 2 pounds and grown 3 inches since his 2 year old check up. He is healthy as can be and actually didn’t see the doctor the entire year!

William is still a pretty picky eater. I don’t stress about it. I cook dinner and try to include something I know he will eat. If he wants it he will eat it, if not, oh well! He eats lots of yogurt and buddy fruits and loves milk and orange juice. That is probably where most of his nutrition comes from. He still naps every day, no exception. His naps range anywhere from an hour and a half to three hours although three hour naps are rare these days. He goes to bed at 7 and wakes between 6:30 and 7:00 am. His sense of fear is developing and he has been waking more at night. The other night he was extremely upset about someone taking his seat SmileHe has been potty trained for a few months now and is doing great with it. He had one week that he regressed a little and had a couple of accidents. They were all in the bathroom right in front of the potty. His vocabulary grows every day and he says the funniest things. I am still a little concerned with his speech and will probably have him tested again soon. He counts to 20 sometimes missing some numbers. He works really hard at counting on his fingers. He has a tough time with colors. He loves to play with Virginia but also loves driving her crazy. He really enjoys school these days and is always excited to see his teachers and friends. Developmentally he is definitely moving away from side by side play with friends to more interactive play. He is content playing alone but asks a lot for us to play with him and LOVES having friends come play. When he gets excited about something he starts dancing and it is the cutest thing ever! He loves playing outside and riding his motorcycle (tricycle) but doesn’t pedal yet. He loves the sandbox and all of his dump trucks and tractors. He LOVES our dog Dora and will throw the ball for her all day long which she loves. He is still shy but not near as shy as he used to be. He still sucks his thumb, mostly when he is tired or being shy.  He doesn’t have an opinion about his clothes which is great for me Smile (His daddy doesn’t have an opinion about it either which is also good for me Smile ) He loves baths, most of the time, and usually chooses to take a bath with Virginia. He loves to read but also loves his tv. He can spot any train, truck, tractor, fire truck, airplane, or helicopter. While he has found many new interests, trains continue to be his favorite. We built trains and tracks almost every day. Unfortunately for him, Virginia has also taken an interest in trains and hasn’t learned to sit and play them as quietly as he has.

He still loves  his lovey’s and must have all 5 of them in the bed. I let him take one to school as long as he keeps it in his bag. Other than that they don’t leave the house unless we are traveling. He also has three blankies that he has to sleep with.

LOVE this little guy and can’t wait to see what the next year holds for him!
