Ice Cream

Monday night when Ryan was putting William to bed he promised him that if he stayed in his bed the whole night then we would go to the ice cream store on Wednesday. I just laughed because bribes rarely work with William. Sure enough sometime around 3:30 am William climbed up in our bed. Yesterday when I was putting him down for a nap he told me he was going to stay in his bed ALL night so we could go to the ice cream store. I explained to him that a nap was not the same as a nap BUT sure enough sometime around 3:30 pm I heard William calling my name. I went in his room and he said “HEY! are you ready to go to the ice cream store? I stayed in my bed ALL night.” Bless his little heart. He was so proud of himself. I told him to take it up with his daddy when he got home from work.

Beach Part 3

Our last day was definitely our best day on the beach (of course). William had no hesitations about the sand, we had a nice cool breeze, and it was overcast. We still had a red flag so no swimming in the ocean but that didn’t stop us from having a great day. I was really hoping my kiddos would fall asleep on the beach and we could stay out all day but that was wishful thinking. They started to get pretty fussy around 1:30 so we packed up and headed in for naps.

V had so much sand in her swimsuit we just decided to take it off.

Nothing like a sandy snack. Not sure why the snack was dumped out all over the blanket but it didn’t stop anyone from eating it.

After a fun afternoon of shopping and eating ice cream in Rosemary Beach it was time to call it a night.

Saturday was rainy which made it easier to pack up and head home.

And just to prove that I was actually on this vacation here is the one picture of me that was taken. Just before we got in the car I told Ryan he needed to get a picture of me with William and Virginia just so when they look back on these pictures one day that they would know that I was actually on this vacation with them. William refused to be in the picture and well, you can see how Virginia reacted.

Beach Part 2

Our good friends, The Moore's, were also down at the beach for the week so Thursday morning they came over to go swim with us at the pool. We headed to Bud and Alleys for lunch and then out to the deck at the restaurant to try and get some pictures of the kiddos. Everyone was not on board for the photo shoot. My two were definitely ready for a nap.

We had some rain that afternoon and we spotted a beautiful rainbow!

Friday morning the lighting was just right so I got the kids (and Ryan) up and dressed and we rode our bikes down to the beach for a photo shoot. I put Virginia in this bubble because I had taken pictures of William on the beach in the same one when he was just a few months older than she is now. You can see those pictures here.

We then rode to Great Southern for a yummy breakfast and rode around to explore a little and take a few more photos.

The Seaside Neighborhood School has a beautiful garden. We had a great time walking around.

After a full morning we let Virginia grab a quick nap before we headed out to enjoy our last day on the beach!
